The African Migration Observatory (AMO) held a constructive meeting with African Union Institute for Statistics - STATAFRIC, and Statistics Sweden (SCB)ย to explore avenues for enhanced collaboration, greater synergy, and more harmonized approaches in the field of migration data and statistics across the continent.

The discussion centered on how our institutions can jointly contribute to building robust, coherent, and sustainable national migration data systems. Particular attention was given to the importance of institutional coordination, the harmonization of methodologies, targeted capacity-building efforts, and the exchange of tools, expertise, and good practices.

This trilateral dialogue marks a meaningful step toward more integrated and efficient data governance on migration , a cornerstone for evidence-based policymaking and long-term development strategies.
